OK, enough with the nice stuff, its time to get tough. I am organizing a protest against the bike path going to ANY Heiaus, anywhere. If you want to help, email me at kad2009@ymail.com.
Here is a sample petition:
"We, the undersigned hereby protest any and all plans to put a concrete, or rubber removable path, either permanent or semi permanent near any sacred heiau or lands along its route. This would include heiaus on both the mauka and makai side, as no heiau takes precedence over another. It is all sacred."
Then get out there and get some signatures! Bring it all to the protest, which I will name at a later date sometime in December. The protest will be in the Rotunda, (County of Kaua'i) and we will present our issue, and the petition to the Mayor at that time.
In the meantime, contact everyone you know. I am contacting Halaus, trying to get the word out across the hula community, and of course to other activists. Please help in this effort. I will be posting times and dates as soon as I get them confirmed.

The La'a Aina Coalition is a group organised by myself and like minded individuals, groups from all over to protect the sacred land.
Besides the bikepath issue, we are also working on making sure that groups do not use the heiau's for other religious ceremonies, and do not enter the heiaus for any purpose other than legitimate Native Hawaiian religious ceremonies and protocols.
